In May my 2008 Ford Focus hit 300,000 miles. I am quite confident I have driven at least 275,000 of those miles. It is my “chaplain” car. People have asked, “why yellow”? Often I answer, 1. People can know when the chaplain is on site, 2. It is difficult to lose to the temptation of going somewhere like “Sammy’s” when you have only 1 of about 3 cars that look like your car in a 2 county area!! 😉
I listen to a pastor who teaches that a testimony is more than just a story of what God did for someone. He teaches that a testimony actually releases God’s favor and presence to “do that thing again” in the present…so please receive today’s word as that for you in your life.
When the children of Israel left Eqypt and journeyed to the “promised land”, the Lord began an interesting feat for them. In Dt 29 we read: “5 Yet the Lord says, “During the forty years that I led you through the wilderness, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet. 6 You ate no bread and drank no wine or other fermented drink. I did this so that you might know that I am the Lord your God.”
I want you to know that my Ford Focus has been in the shop to repair a broken serpentine belt, brake pads, a rear wheel bearing,  and to tighten an oil sensor. That is all I recall having down time for. I have fairly religiously changed the oil with BG oil additive. I have had excellent service at Joe Bullard Cadillac, where I serve as chaplain.
300,000+ miles. Very little down time. Simple, routine care. The smile and blessing of the Lord upon this car, that it may not wear out!! May He smile upon you today with your car, your marriage, your profession, your employees…in that area that when you see what He has done for you, you will hear him saying, “I did this so that you might know that I am the Lord your God.”
